Since it seems the listening party will be hard to come by (we will do it this year. lets try that) I'm posting my album onto the draft. Make a playlist and listen in awe.

Final pick
This was my hardest pick. I just couldn't decide on anything. I narrowed it down and I knew I wanted something from velvet revolver, so I chose AMERICAN MAN

AND I'M OUT
Sorry for the delay. I forgot to text Tim to let him know it was his pick. Anyway here is his pick. And I like it.
AND I'M OUT
I will end my draft with Out To Get Me because I am so innocent

You Guys Owe Me Some Better Picks
So I don't know if any of you have listened to Chinese Democracy. It's kind of a hot mess, but in a good way. After 15 years or however long it obviously couldn't live up to any hype it had, nor does it compare to any of the work with the original lineup. But the songs are so big and so far out there that it's certainly a curiousity worth listening to. Choice quote from a Rolling Stone review:
"Most of these songs also go through multiple U-turns in personality, as if Rose kept trying new approaches to a hook or a bridge and then decided,'What the hell, they're all cool.'"
So I don't mind ending with a Chinese Democracy track, though I would have loved a total of 12 songs so I could have taken an extra VR song and another Use Your Illusion song as well. I'll take this song, which is perhaps the most straight-forward on the disc and also probably the most catchy: I.R.S.

You've got some fucking attitude
For my cover song, I really would have wanted Live and Let Die in the 3rd or 4th round. Since Ian took it so quickly, I had to go to The Spaghetti Incident, which I never bothered to look at before this draft. I didn't realize that they had 2 of my favorite punk songs on there! I would have taken I Don't Care About You, which is formerly by Fear... but realized there is a hidden track after it, so I disqualified it. Instead, I'm taking the Misfits cover, Attitude. Which is really short for a GnR song.
Well, well, well.
Two picks to round out my draft. Yet to take anything off UYI 2, so I'll finally represent with Yesterdays.
And yes Dorian, I considered taking night train. Though in the car ride this morning I actually decided to take a different Ape-Tit song. My Michelle.
I'll comment on your picks as we finish, but nice draft everyone.

My cover will be next
This was one of the hardest picks, since this is the last unrestricted pick I can make, and I know Milhouse won't pick the cover songs I'd choose from, but he might pick this song cause I've heard him listen to it. This should not be a 9th rounder. I'm on the Nightrain!

Roll-Playing Game
My two VR tracks have been more on the slower/ballad side of things, so I needed something with a little bit more to it. (Despite my affinity for Gravedancer.) Could have taken Just Sixteen or Headspace, but this is classic album opener stuff, fast and short: Let It Roll.
Velvet Revolver getting their Riffs from Megaman?!
Yes... Listen to Spay from Libertad and then listen to this:

GOD DAMN IT
Another Tim pick. You could have told me the title to this song and I would not have known what it was. But once played, I said: "Oh! The pen to the paper song."
Here is what Tim Said: GOD DAMN IT
going to take Dont Damn ME because I think I am already damned I'm just gald this song made it this lost and no one took it

Hairy and dirty
Had a hard time finding a gnr cover that I liked. Mainly because I've never heard of any of the originals. But I decided to take hair of the dog. And I am also taking another velvet revolver dirty little thing
I'm So Excited...
This song title made me think about the scene from Hot Shots Part Deux when Charlie Sheen is in bed and she does the back flip onto the bed. Anyway here is what Tim emailed me.
PRETTY FUCKED UP I HAD TOO MUCH TO DRINK
taking pretty tied up so I have at least one song from every album

Think About Jews
At this point there are four Ape-Tit for Destruction tracks I could take and be happy. Choosing between them is like splitting hairs. Hard to even qualify why I'm gravitating to this one. Oh well, it's all good: Think About You.
Neutered
This is going to be my Kicker or D/ST pick. Not a fan of Libertad, but almost all the songs on there are taken, so I need to get a half decent one or be penalized. Heh. "Penalized" I'm taking Spay.
Still There...
Do It For The Kids is very underrated I think. One of those "second track on the albums" that gets overlooked because it's not the opening song. Glad it fell to me.
Was gonna take Big Machine, but felt that Superhuman was different enough than Do It For The Kids that it gave me some variety. So I'll take that.

How I feel on Mondays
I love GnR so much more, but guess I'll finally take a crack at a required VR song. Surprisingly, this song is still here, and I really thought it was one of their top three singles. Anyway, please Set Me Free.
Go Ahead, Give It To Me
Sorry for the delay, traveling yesterday and needed a few minutes of time to review my next pick. Need a track from Use Your Illusion II, which I don't think is their strongest album, but the piano in this track is the appealing option here: Breakdown.

DIE HORSE DIE
I'll (Tim) be taking dead horse because I always try to keep smiling no matter how bad things get (see me smiling right now while I hit them skins)

Oxymoron
Probably won't be knockin on heavens door after dieing from pills, demons & etc. but at least I would be going out while listening to good tunes
Tim goes with the unprecedented 2nd cover
From now on, Tim will be emailing me his picks and I'll be posting them...
"I needed a song from libertad and I really wanted the last fight but CJ beat me to it so I will take a second cover Can't get it out of my head"

Under the Covers
I need a cover, there weren't a lot on Spaghetti Incident I really loved, but this is a solid tune: Black Leather.
You Could Be High
Or Jew Could Be Mine.
Also From Terminator 2, I select You Could Be Mine. Fucking rock.
Also From Terminator 2, I select You Could Be Mine. Fucking rock.
3 songs 2 picks
I'll take two of them (obviously) and hope the other can last for 8 more picks.
How are all the VR ballads gone? I still get the one I want. Favorite since I can play it on the guitar. Loving the Aliens
I'll also take a unique song from Ape tit. I may take the live version but don't have my computer or iPod here at my conference.
Rocket queen
Ps I also have a funny college story involving rocket queen, but it must be told live for the voice.

Get the money motherfucker
I'm going with my first non-single since I love it so much and don't want to risk someone else also loving it. I'm taking Double Talkin' Jive.
And as a result of that joke ...
My wife told me what they say in this next song: The Last Fight. In a 10-track draft I'm not messing around with my second-tier choices ... this is my favorite from Libertad, and certainly appeals to me because of its melodic nature.
I Told Her Twice
Dopey took two songs that I tell my wife all the time: You're Crazy, and You Got No Right.

For Pleasure
She builds a quick machine almost makes me feel like I'm in top gun while listening to it. And I also pick slither which I have heard a 1000 times because it is on my track list for the gym.

Whistling
Damnit Dorian, stop forcing my hand with these singles. Nice Boys is a great choice by Aaron, one of those underrated songs I wish I could have taken a couple rounds later. But since we're on such a singles kick, might as well take a song I really adore and cover GN'R Lies proper: Patience.
You keep picking deep tracks
And I'll take the hits. One of the most epic ones, the last song of their video trilogy. Estranged.
Lets the Deep Tracks Roll
Lets get the cover out of the way. Original band it Rose Tattoo. Nice Boys.
Next song is Bad Obsession. Best line: "She's just a cunt now."

What About Reese's Pieces?
I'm just about ready to dig into some sleepers, but there's one more single I definitely want, and I'm not going to take a chance it's not around next time. Can't have enough power ballads (I guess it qualifies as one): Fall To Pieces.
There's Only One Rule Up In My Bedroom!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxBonEd36xU
Tim takes Anything Goes. PS Read the lyrics sometime. It's this reason that I don't blame my mom for not letting me buy this album when I was 3.

Since I Don't Have Jews
And in case you weren't paying attention to the doc, Tim took Since I Don't Have You. That's my favorite track from the Spaghetti Incident, so solid choice. Another pick coming for Dopey.
Because I Got High
Before every song gets sucked out of Appetite for destruction i'm going with MR. BROWNSTONE.
And next i am taking LIVE AND LET DIE
And next i am taking LIVE AND LET DIE

Salute to Hairspray
Sweet Child of Mine would have been my ideal 1-2, but pretty impossible to snag both. This is a luxury pick because the whole album is so good, but if we're closing out the run on singles, I wanted to grab it because the beginning still gives me chills after all these years: Welcome to the Jungle.
Miami, perhaps
Not an easy pick, cause I already had my heart set on Aaron's first pick. But i'll take a song that contains some of Slash's best solos. Paradise City!
How is it still there???
There is no way I should be selecting this song at 5th overall. A song worthy of 1.1 status. Anyway: Sweet Child O' Mine.
If that was the only pick I had to make I would have made it earlier today. Next selection was tougher. Do I go for best song or hedge and pick what I consider is the second best song and last top tier song on another album. Yea, the later. I'll take Mary Mary.
Tim will most likely take the other song I was going to take...

Crying already
Damn CJ, you already ruined my entire plan for this draft. Despite having 2 versions of this song, which lowers their value, I'll have to pick this song anyway. I select Don't Cry, the original version on Use Your Illusion 1.
Chocolate Rain
GNR is all about over-the-top excess, and nothing is more epic than this track. It had to be taken in the first round: November Rain.
Tim Round 1 Pick
Dopey takes The Garden from UYI 1. Also a very good song. One of the long, drawn out types.
Get out the door
After listening to all the albums I realized how much I like velvet revolver more then GNR. So for my first pick I'm going with a velvet revolver track. Stay drafty my friends
I'm glad we got this started. Great way to chose the order Aaron. We all have so much going on in our lives that was the easiest way to pick.
